WPC 2021

The World Pre-Health Conference at Harvard University, which is free to attend for pre-health students from universities around the globe, takes place every March.

Every year, the conference features a wide range of workshops and events. WPC 2021’s speakers included Tammy Boyd, Chief Policy Officer and Counsel to the Black Women’s Health Imperative Tammy Boyd, Program Director of Massachusetts General Hospital’s Autoimmune Center of Excellence. The events featured a medical case competition and a workshop on surgical skills.

Participants could also apply to be matched up with mentors in the medical field. Students can apply for the Student Mentoring Program, which matches them with mentors in the medical field based on shared interests.

WPC 2021

The 23rd World Petroleum Congress was held in Houston, Texas, from December 5-9, 2021. This is the first time Congress has been held since 1987. The Congress brought together over 5,000 people from more than 70 countries and was a catalyst for important conversations about the future of oil with global leaders.

H.E. Amin H. Nasser, President, CEO, Saudi Aramco, and other industry leaders, include Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, Secretary-General of OPEC. Darren Woods, Chairman & CEO of ExxonMobil Corporation, Mike Wirth, Chairman & CEO, Chevron, offered their perspectives on key industry topics such as energy transition, collaboration through partnership, and other important issues. More than 75 companies were represented on the exhibition floor. Special features such as the Innovation Zone presented ConocoPhillips, and The Young Professionals stand presented HESS by HESS, Global Sustainability presented BCG, the Purposeful Journey inspired Change, and the Young Professionals Stand presented by HESS were also showcased. A Social Program That’s Exciting

The 23rd World Petroleum Congress kicked off with a memorable opening reception. Houston was bustling; USA Night celebrated the city’s culture and featured the WPC Excellence Awards, inspirational Dewhurst Lecture, and Award. These special events were energizing events that brought people together to celebrate the city and the pioneers in the industry.
